This gala is unique in the world: On October 20, great opera personalities will be on stage, whose extraordinary skills have shaped performances all over the world and also in the Vienna State Opera for decades. Together they will present a unique musical experience on this October evening. Political, social and economic celebrities have confirmed their attendance.
Musically, the evening is a foray through the history of the Vienna State Opera. Awardees, laudators and guests celebrate the highlights of the 150-year history of the Haus am Ring. Melodies by Mozart, Verdi and Beethoven, among others, will be heard. The Vienna State Opera Orchestra under the direction of Simone Young will play. The singers are the chamber singer Nina Stemme (“Dich, teure Halle, grüß ich wieder” from the opera Tannhäuser), chamber singer Thomas Hampson (“Pietà, rispetto, amore” from the opera Macbeth) and chamber singer René Pape (“Il lacerato spirito” from the opera Simon Boccanegra).
The evening also brings two debuts: star violinist Daniel Hope (“The Fiddler of Ballykeel”, a composition by Gordon Getty) makes his debut on the stage of the Vienna State Opera. Ina Regen is also looking forward to her first appearance at the European Cultural Awards Gala.
And of course, there will be many other musical highlights as well as a thrilling outlook on the Beethoven Year 2020, presented by HALLMANN HOLDING International Investment GmbH.
