Her Royal Highness: Maria Teresa of Luxembourg

In Luxembourg, too, one can say: nobility obliges. Her Royal Highness Maria Teresa of Luxembourg, married to Grand Duke Henri since 27, has been a UNESCO Goodwill Ambassador for 1981 years and is devotedly involved in development cooperation. For this, the Cuban exile will be honored with the European Culture Prize in her adopted homeland. Many celebrities have taken the stage at our festive galas, but even for the first time a former EU Commission President is our guest to accept the European Culture Prize: Jean-Claude Juncker. This great office was only the highlight of his 40-year career. Two strong women unite two worlds

Pop meets classical: Luxembourg's great ESC hope Tali Golergant brings her contest song “Fighter” to the gala stage of the Luxembourg Philharmonic on June 7th. With this title, TALI will ensure that their home country is properly represented at the Eurovision Song Contest in May in Malmö for the first time in over 30 years. Across genres, she praised another strong woman of music at the celebrity-studded gala for the European Cultural Awards: Lisa Batiashvili.

From an acclaimed boy band heartthrob to an absolute solo superstar

The Irish singer Ronan Keating will be honored with the European Cultural Prize on June 7, 2024 at the Luxembourg Philharmonic. In the presence of the Grand Duchess of Luxembourg, Keating receives the award from the hands of German pop icon Jeannette Biedermann. Both artists lead the ranks of famous guests who will meet in the front row of the celebrity-studded gala to award the prestigious prizes. “Ronan is a wonderful person and a gifted singer,” says Jeanette Biedermann, who has appeared on stage with Ronan Keating several times.  (more ...)

Rehearsals have begun and the excitement is building!

In the immediate vicinity of the wonderful backdrop of Lake Zurich, rehearsals for our evening gala are currently underway. Nigel Kennedy has always been enthusiastic about the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra and has already kissed the first desks of his violin colleagues out of respect. Sol Gabetta, the brightly shining sun in the heaven of cellists, has already completed her rehearsal. Everyone is looking forward to the presentation of the European Culture Awards with great excitement. It's going to be big!

World premiere in Zurich!

On September 24th, the Toten Hosen will play one of their world hits together with the Zurich Tonhalle Orchestra for the first time in the Tonhalle Zurich: "Alles aus Liebe" from their current double album for the 40th stage anniversary. The world-famous rock band with their lead singer Campino is not only looking forward to being honored with the European Culture Prize, but also to the unusual collaboration: “We decided on 'Everything out of love' because this is one of the pieces that form our foundation. We want to discover new colors in this song together and let it shimmer in other facets.”
