European Cultural Award goes to Vienna

In a unique Cultural Awards gala on October 20th, 2019, the European Cultural Awards TAURUS will be presented at the Vienna State Opera, which celebrates its 150th anniversary this year. The top-class European Cultural Awards Gala is presented by HALLMANN HOLDING International Investment GmbH. Great opera personalities are expected on this evening, whose extraordinary skills have shaped the performances of the Vienna State Opera for decades and made them a unique musical experience. The Vienna State Opera ensemble of orchestra, choir and ballet has already been selected as one of the first awardees in 2019. Today, the Vienna State Opera is one of the most important opera houses in the world. In 1869, the Opera “am Ring” celebrated its grand opening with a performance of Mozart’s “Don Giovanni”. The magnificent building was destroyed in the Second World War and reopened in 1955. Since then, the Vienna State Opera has been offering international audiences’ performances of the very highest standard, mostly with world star cast, on around 300 days a year. Highlights of the festival year include the ceremony on May 25th, 2019 at the Vienna State Opera and the new production of Richard Strauss’ “Die Frau ohne Schatten”, which premiered at the Vienna State Opera in 1919.
