Data protection

Information on data protection at

www.europaeischer-kulturpreis.de and www.europaeisches-kulturforum.de

In the following, we would like to give you a brief description of our position on data protection, how we protect your data and what it means for you when you use our personalizable services. Basically, our attitude is that the protection of your privacy is of utmost importance. For this reason, compliance with the legal provisions on data protection is a matter of course for us. Furthermore, it is important to us that you know at all times when we store which data and how we use it.

What are personal data?

Personal data is all information about personal and factual circumstances of a specific or identifiable person. This includes information and details such as your name, your address or other postal address, the telephone number. Your e-mail address is also included if it has such a connection to your name that you are identifiable. This does not include information that cannot be used to determine your identity. Such information includes, for example, only your height, only your gender or age or your education or income.

When and where is your personal data collected and stored?

Your personal data is collected and stored if, for example, you use one of our personalised or interactive services or register for such services, for example to order a newsletter or tickets. If you send us enquiries via the contact form, your details from the enquiry form, including the contact details you provided there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the enquiry and in the event of follow-up questions. We will not pass on this data without your consent.

All your personal data will be stored on a specially protected server and will only be used for the purposes you have given us.

Information, deletion, blocking

You have the right to receive information free of charge at any time about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of data processing, as well as the right to correct, block or delete this data. For this purpose, as well as for further questions regarding personal data, you can contact us at any time at the address given in the imprint.

What actually happens with IP addresses etc.?

When you access this website, possible identification data (IP address) and other information (date, time, pages viewed) are stored on our server for data security purposes. The data is not evaluated, except for statistical purposes and then in anonymised or pseudonymised form (i.e. IP address shortened by several numbers or encoded in another sequence of numbers).

Use of the Facebook “Like” button

Our website uses the “Like” button of the social network facebook.com. This special service is operated by Facebook Inc, 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA (“Facebook”). The button is marked with the Facebook logo and the addition “Like”.

When you visit a website of our Internet presence that contains the button, your browser establishes a direct connection with the Facebook servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted by Facebook directly to your browser and integrated into the website by it.

When called, Facebook thus receives the information that someone has called up the corresponding page of our website. If you are logged into Facebook at that moment, Facebook can assign the visit call to your Facebook account – even if you do not click the button. If you click on the “Like” button, the corresponding information is transmitted from your browser directly to Facebook and stored there.

For information about the purpose and scope of data collection and the further processing and use of data by Facebook, as well as your options for privacy protection, please refer to the Facebook privacy policy.

If you do not want Facebook to collect personal data about you via our website, you only need to log out of Facebook before visiting our website.
