What about the future of the music metropolis Hamburg? Very well. You can see this for yourself once again on 03 October 2017 in the Elbphilharmonie. The Felix Mendelssohn Youth Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Prof. Clemens Malich is part of the project “The Young ClassX” – a stirring and unique success story of Hamburg’s music promotion. The project works with the great support of the Otto Group and is a matter close to the heart of Dr. Michael Otto, Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
With over 100 members aged between 10 and 27 years, this orchestra is now one of the largest and most successful ensembles of its kind in Germany. Since its foundation in 1974, the young musicians have played in many European countries. On October 3, 2017, the Felix Mendelssohn Youth Symphony Orchestra will be awarded the European Cultural Award for Young Musicians of the European Cultural Forum in the Hamburg Elbe Philharmonic Hall. The laudatory speech will be given by the Silbermond group on this evening.
